This page explains how information is handled on this site (ipmsg.ishwt.net). The site is operated with the policy of retaining as little personally identifiable information as possible.

Form submissions

The contents you enter in the contact form or the issue report form are used only to send an email to the author. They are never stored in a database or on the server. If a reply is needed, we will respond to the email address you provided.

When you submit a form, your IP address and browser information (User-Agent) are included in that email for spam screening and troubleshooting. They are only included in the email and are never stored on the server.

Download records

To understand how the distributed files are being used, the following information is recorded when a file is downloaded:

  • The name of the downloaded file and the timestamp
  • The country and network (ASN) of the request, determined via MaxMind GeoLite2
  • A hashed value of the IP address (used only to de-duplicate repeated requests)

Raw IP addresses are not stored. These records are used solely for aggregate statistics and are never made public.

App update checks

IP Messenger for macOS periodically checks for available updates (via Sparkle). During each check, the following information is recorded on our server for statistical purposes:

  • IP Messenger for macOS and Sparkle version (from the User-Agent header)
  • The country of the request, determined via GeoLite2
  • The number of checks (aggregated daily)

Raw IP addresses and cookies are not used. No personally identifiable information is recorded. These records are used solely to understand usage trends and are never made public.

Access analytics

To understand site usage, we run our own lightweight analytics.

  • We do not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics.
  • We do not use cookies.
  • We record information such as the page viewed, language, referrer, and country. Raw IP addresses are not stored.

Because no data is shared with third parties and no cookies are used, no consent banner is shown.

Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To prevent spam submissions, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. When a form page is displayed, your browser sends a request to Cloudflare for bot detection. Turnstile does not rely on cookies.

Cookies

This site does not use any cookies.
